Fabian Hürzeler enjoys dream start as Brighton spell doom for 10-man Everton

The beginning of the end for Goodison Park heralded the start of a potentially beautiful relationship for Fabian Hürzeler and Brighton. The youngest permanent manager in Premier League history enjoyed a debut to savour as the Seagulls spoiled Everton’s final opening day at their home of 132 years with an emphatic victory.

Everton’s dominant start was a distant memory by the time Simon Adingra swept home Brighton’s third goal. Victory for the enterprising, intelligent visitors could and should have been greater. They were full of energy and ideas against an opponent that ran out of both.
