Championship roundup: Millwall end QPR’s unbeaten run while Saints still struggle at home
Azeez and Ivanovic give Millwall 2-1 win
Oxford 1-0 Derby, Southampton 0-0 Swansea
Millwall ended QPR’s unbeaten run as first-half goals from Femi Azeez and Mihailo Ivanovic earned them a 2-1 win at Loftus Road. Azeez put the Lions ahead after 36 minutes and QPR, who had not lost in six matches, faced an uphill task once Ivanovic doubled Millwall’s lead in first-half stoppage time. Rumarn Burrell pulled one back for the hosts in the 85th minute, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
Stan Mills scored his first goal of the season as Oxford earned their second Championship win with a 1-0 victory over Derby at the Kassam Stadium. Only a string of saves from Jacob Widell Zetterstrom prevented the Rams from falling to a much heavier defeat. Mills struck in the 24th minute when he ran on to Brian De Keersmaecker’s fine pass and finished with a clinical shot low past Zetterstrom’s left hand.
