Jeremy Sarmiento’s last gasp winner propels Ipswich past Saints
It was never going to be dull. Almost every minute of this meeting between the Championship’s most free-flowing, top-scoring side and a visiting opposition intent on catching them pulsed with the vibrancy of a match deserving of the top flight that they both aspire to be in.
For so long, Southampton looked like the only possible winners. They certainly had the chances to put it beyond doubt. But, with almost the last kick of the game, Jeremy Sarmiento poked past Gavin Bazunu to steal the points and send Ipswich back to the top of the table.
