Maddison ‘devastated’ by Euro snub but holds no grudge against Southgate
Tottenham midfielder was left out of England squad‘Gareth’s a great man. He explained his reasons’
James Maddison says he holds no grudge against the former England manager Gareth Southgate for axing him from his Euro 2024 squad. The Tottenham midfielder was a high-profile omission when Southgate announced his final 26-man group for this summer’s tournament in Germany.
He said he has used the disappointment from missing out on the Euros as “fuel” to ensure he is back to his best this season. “I struggled to find the consistency second half of last season post injury,” he added.
