West Ham agree £25m deal to sign Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme
Teenager to be first signing of Julen Lopetegui eraClub looking to make six to eight summer signings
West Ham have agreed to sign the Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme in a deal worth €30m (£25m). The clubs have been locked in talks this week and it is expected that the 18-year-old will become the first signing of the Julen Lopetegui era at the London Stadium.
There had been fears that the deal would fall apart after Guilherme, who is rated as one of the best young talents in Brazil, received interest from the Saudi Pro League. But West Ham refused to give up and are set to pay Palmeiras €23m (£19.5m) plus €7m in add-ons. There is also a 20% sell-on clause.
